A Target Market Determination (TMD) is a document which describes the type of consumer our products are appropriate for (target market). It also includes details about the key attributes of our products and how we distribute them. TMDs are not a substitute for reading the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) for the product.
From 5 October 2021, all issuers of financial products need to prepare a TMD for certain products as a result of changes that have been made under the Corporations Act 2001 (Design and Distributions Obligations). A TMD is not required for MySuper and Defined Benefits Scheme products.
The changes are designed to make sure that we’re keeping members at the centre of our approach to the design and distribution of our superannuation products.
