Multi-award-winning industry super fund EISS Super today announced it has been recognised as a Kincentric Best Employer Australia for its employee engagement, organisational agility, engaging leadership and talent focus.

Importantly, the certification is based on the most reliable measure: self-reported employee opinion. EISS Super placed in the top quartile in all categories, performing over and above the benchmark for being a Best Employer. The members-first super fund, with origins in the energy industry, is the only Australian organisation to have been recognised so far this year.

Kincentric’s Best Employers (formerly Aon Best Employer) global certification compares organisations to identify those that strive to continuously inspire their people, spark change and accelerate business success. Kincentric’s half century of research confirms, businesses that meet its Best Employers benchmarks drive consistent long-term performance with better business results. The certification criteria measures and recognises leading employers who capture the full power of their people to drive results and create sustainable competitive advantages – including 86% higher sales growth than average companies, 71% higher operating income growth than average companies, and 4x higher sales growth than bottom quartile companies.

EISS Super’s CEO Alexander Hutchison said: “We are humbled to have been recognised as a Kincentric Best Employer, based on our employees’ assessment of the workplace environment that we have all created. It’s always great to have confirmation of our employees’ satisfaction and belief in each other – especially currently when many Australians are facing uncertainty and disruption in their lives. We want to be a great place for people to work, and believe that a well-led, productive and happy workplace with top talent will ultimately provide a better outcome for our members and employer partners.”

“We are a true-to-label, specialist and tailored superannuation fund servicing the energy sector that is focused on our members and their futures. Our team gains huge satisfaction from delivering a high-quality service to our members – a fact evident in our strongest reported areas: that staff are motivated to contribute above and beyond, that we support their learning and development and retain crucial talent, and that we are responsive to the changing needs of our members.”

EISS Super’s four pillars of Value, Outstanding service, Strong long-term returns and Community are mutually reinforcing and are in large part due the EISS Super team’s ongoing efforts on behalf of members. Mr Hutchison continued “We would like to thank our employees for their consistent and exceptional contribution to our culture, and most importantly our members and the wider community”
Stephen Hickey, Head of Culture & Engagement, Asia Pacific Middle East & Africa at Kincentric said: “We congratulate EISS Super on achieving this recognition. The Best Employers program recognises the outstanding achievements of organisations that demonstrate excellence in the workplace, foster an agile culture and consistently deliver strong, sustainable business results. EISS Super was in the top quartile for all four of our criteria, showing it drives exceptional business outcomes through high employee engagement, profound organisational agility, engaging leadership and strong talent focus.”

To achieve recognition through the Kincentric Best Employers certification, EISS Super was assessed on four measures:

  1. Employee Engagement: Employees speak positively about their employer, intend to stay and are motivated to exert extra effort at work.
  2. Organisational Agility: Employees see that the organisation is highly adaptive, innovative, inclusive and responsive to the changing needs of its customers.
  3. Engaging Leadership: Leaders are deeply connected with employees to drive engagement, communicate a clear vision and exert strong personal values.
  4. Talent Focus: Employees see that the organisation is focusing on attracting and retaining great talent and creating an inspirational environment where people can thrive.
