Defined Benefit Scheme (Div D)

The Rules concerning the calculation of Superable Salary are found in Schedule 4 of the Trust Deed, (Rules 1.2 and 1.3), which can be accessed on the Scheme's website. Superable salary is very similar to Div B and includes the base pre-tax salary actually paid to an employee, plus allowances included in termination pay, plus shift loadings, plus weekly workers compensation, plus approved employment benefits.

Employers are required to advise the superable salaries being paid on the Annual Review Day (ARD) which determine the contribution rate payable, occurring from the first pay day on or after the Annual Adjustment Day (AAD) as follows:

Month of Birth    Annual Review Day    Annual Adjustment Day
  •    January to June
  •    28 July
  •    21 October
  •    July to December
  •    9 February
  •    5 May

Employers are required to provide OTE salaries as at 30 June each year.

Further information can also be found in the Employer Handbook.
