Until 1997, energy industries employees had been members of an assortment of state-based, public sector superannuation schemes.

In July that year, under NSW Government legislation, the Energy Industries Superannuation Scheme (EISS) was established with a commitment to improving members' long-term retirement incomes.

Today, EISS looks after the superannuation needs of 22,000 members with almost $3bn dollars in funds under management. It also provides a range of services including financial advice for members at no extra cost through its half ownership of FuturePlus Financial Services. materials
