Following his appointment as CEO of Energy Industries Superannuation Scheme Pty Limited (EISS), Richard Powis left FuturePlus in May 2011, after serving as its CEO since February 2008. EISS, from December 2010, became the sole owner of FuturePlus, newly reshaped as a third party administrator. As CEO of EISS, Richard manages assets of more than $3 billion in funds under management, looking after over 20,000 members. In this role, he also oversees the provision by FuturePlus of services to EISS members and their families, including retirement and wealth creation advice, and administration services.

Richard's prior business experience includes his tenure from 2000-2007 as CEO of Integral Energy, one of three NSW State-owned energy corporations.

Richard is a former board member of the Energy Industries Superannuation Scheme, and past Chairman and director of the Energy Networks Association, as well as director of the Energy Supply Association of Australia.
